Made for the early stages

Beginner bassoonists go through reeds quickly. They drop them, knock them in cases, leave them in dry rooms, and break in their embouchures faster than they realise. The KGE Student is built for that reality: an affordable, reliable workshop-made reed that plays close to the next one out of the box, so a teacher can stock a few without wondering which will work for which student.

Two strengths to grow with the player

Medium-Soft suits the absolute beginner whose embouchure is still developing. It plays freely without requiring much pressure, letting the student focus on tone and breath rather than wrestling the reed. Medium follows on naturally as the embouchure strengthens, with a touch more resistance to encourage developing control. The wrapping is KGE's distinctive dark multi-coloured thread.
