Bassoon Cane Scoring Tool (8 Blades)
How to use the Scoring Tool:
The blade tips of the scoring tool are rotated slightly to fit the curved cross section of the cane bark you will score. In order to make sure all of the blade tips cut into the bark follow the below instructions:
1) Place the piece of cane on an easel, dowel or cutting mat
2) Hold the tool at a 30° angle to the cane at or near the collar.
3) Press the blades into the bark.
4) Score bark and drag down towards the end of the piece of cane.
*Please Note: this tool is not made to be used to score completely through the cane!
