Lightweight and compact

Excellent contrabassoon stand! Really lightweight and compact. The instructions don't make sense, but it's pretty obvious how it all fits together. The stand now lives in the pocket of my gig bag. Sent very promptly by Crook and Staple.

Makes life easier

It weighs very little, compared with conventional stands. It packs away inside the gig bag and is easy to assemble and disassemble. As I also have the CF bassoon stand I can now go to a doubling gig with two bags instead of three. Yes, they are a bit expensive but worthwhile in my view.

Importing your reeds to France.

Although very pleased with the quality of your reed, I was not happy at having to pay 13 euros in customs charges to my local post office. Maybe you can find a way around this.

Spare the knife

Using a flat metal plaque can blunt your knife and also cause the reed to break because it is too flat. The convex ebony plaque solves both problems.

Have tried it a couple of times. Appears to do exactly what it claims - is very comfortable, easy to assemble and takes some of the strain off my thumb, hand and wrist, without getting in the way.
